Solo Truck Wrecks Near Brown’s Corner in Willits

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a single-vehicle accident occurred at 2:51 p.m. near Brown’s Corner in Willits after a black truck overturned in the roadway.

Reports from the scene indicate no one was injured in the incident, and a tow truck is being dispatched.

The characterization of the vehicle being “overturned” conflicts with images of the scene sent to us by a reader which shows the truck along the side of the road and right-side-up.

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

  1. reckless driving possibly, trying to miss wildlife in roadway, possibly speeding. Could of looked away from the road & over steered who knows. One day they’ll have Infa red cameras covering every inch of the highway. Then we’ll know for sure. Untill then slow down drive safe

  2. I passed by that scene on my way back into Willits yesterday afternoon. I couldn’t quite figure how the person ended up in that position either. Only thing I could think of was that there was a mechanical issue with the vehicle, or yeah, the driver wasn’t paying attention to the roadway.
