Reports of Vegetation Fire in Ukiah Prove a False Alarm After Firefighters Find Barbecue at Scene

Categories:

At approximately 1:22 p.m. reports began to emerge of a vegetation fire in the area of 1300 North State Street in Ukiah. These initial reports indicated a fire was burning in the area behind the burnt-out smoke shop. Multiple engines from the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority were dispatched to the area.

Upon arrival, the Incident Commander reported that what was initially reported as a vegetation fire proved to be smoke emitting from a barbecue. No hazards were located in the area and fire personnel were released from the scene.

This is the approximate location of where the vegetation fire, which actually proved to be a barbecue.
