The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol- Santa Rosa Office:
This morning at approximately 11:21am, a crash was reported on SR-1 near Meyers Grade Road. Santa Rosa CHP officers arrived on scene and located a vehicle off the roadway and down a hillside. Preliminary investigation indicates an Alpha Romeo was traveling northbound on SR-1, north of Meyers Grade Road. For unknown reasons at this time, the vehicle drifted to the left and drove off the roadway. The vehicle rolled several times and continued several hundred feet down the hillside. Sonoma Sheriff Henry-1 and CHP – Golden Gate Division Air Operations H-30 responded to the scene. The solo male occupant was pronounced deceased at the scene. Any inquiries regarding the identification of the deceased should be directed to the Sonoma County Coroner’s office.
