This information is preliminary, but at approximately 9:15 p.m. firefighters were requested to the 7000 block of Old Wagon Road in Potter Valley regarding a structure fire.

The Incident Commander is reporting a single trailer has burned and is now on the ground along with multiple propane tanks. No other structures are threatened.

The AlertWildfire Webcam from the Ridgewood Grade shows a column of smoke growing behind a ridgeline lit from beneath by unseen flames.

Social Media users on the Potter Valley Community Facebook page are reporting seeing emergency vehicles in the area and explosions loud enough to shake their home.

UPDATE 9:45 p.m.: A photograph of the fire was provided to us by Potter Valley resident Kerry Randall:

I like to think of myself as a reporter for the Average Joe. Journalism has become a craft defined largely by city dwellers on America's coasts. It’s time to take it back. I have been an Emerald Triangle resident since 2006 and this is year ten in Mendocino County. Please, email me at matthewplafever@gmail.com if you know a story that needs to be told.
