On 02/28/2022 at approximately 2:15 AM, a UPD Officer was on patrol in the area of Motel 6 south (1208 S.  State St.) when he observed a male subject seated in the drivers of a vehicle in the parking lot. The Officer contacted the male subject and identified him as Taylor Fabisch. The Officer conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered approximately 20 grams of suspected fentanyl and a suspected methamphetamine pipe.

Fabisch was placed under arrest and transported to the MCSO Jail. During the process of being booked into the jail, an MCSO Correctional Deputy discovered a hidden compartment inside of the ring that Fabisch was wearing. 1. That Motel 6 has become a criminal nuisance over the years. Easy pickins for any cop driving by to grab a plate number then check their record and a knock on the door. I remember getting a room while attending one of my kid’s high school graduations in 2008. When I was walking up to the room after checking in, a group of about 5 to 8 people were hanging out on the steps drinking as I walked by one of them said, “nice camera” admiring my camera bag I thanked him while thinking “he’s breaking into my room later”. Got up to the room opened the door and the stench of old tobacco smoke hit me in the nose, looked around the room and saw burn marks on the furniture and the floor. I didn’t even step into the room, turned around and checked out immediately. Pulling out of the lot a UPD was pulling in. Over the decades I wonder how many times the UPD has visited that Motel?
