The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol Ukiah Office:
On March 20, 2022, at approximately 1310 hours, Ukiah CHP responded to a solo vehicle collision, located on SR-1 north of Ocean Meadows Circle. During the investigation, it was determined Party #1 (P-1) was driving a 2011 Suzuki Hayabusa, northbound on SR-1, at an undetermined speed. Due to the speed of the Suzuki, P-1 was unable to negotiate the curved roadway and the Suzuki traveled onto the past shoulder of SR-1 where it collided with a metal guardrail. P-1 sustained fatal injuries as a result of this collision. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs are to be a factor of this collision. The cause of this collision is still under investigation,
The identity of the involved party is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
