Law enforcement on the Mendocino County coast have detained a male driver that was reportedly displaying aggressive behavior towards two juveniles in the car with him. A passerby said she overheard the man say he was intoxicated and he was going to kill the mother of his children. The man was then witnessed driving north on State Route 1.
A Be-on-the-Lookout was initially dispatched around 6:55 p.m. A California Highway Patrol officer reportedly located the vehicle driving northbound around mile marker 48. CHP initially asked for back up before attempting to pull over the driver but he yielded and has been detained.
The initial incident reportedly occurred near mile marker 45 of State Route 1 near Dark Gulch north of the Albion River Inn. Initial reports indicate a silver Honda Civic without front or rear plates was stopped in the middle of the roadway and the driver was being aggressive towards two juveniles aged approximately 10 and 13 years old.
UPDATE 7:35 p.m.: Scanner traffic indicates CHP is out with the male driver at the 14000 block of Point Cabrillo Drive. An audible scream could be heard over the scanner as law enforcement attempted to detain the individual who is now handcuffed and in the back of a patrol car.
