Scanner traffic beginning at approximately 4:55 p.m. indicated that a vegetation fire was burning near the 38000 block of Pine Mountain Road.

The Incident Commander reported upon arriving at the scene that the fire was a quarter-acre in size and burning at a slow rate of spread in “heavy brush.”

A helicopter was dispatched to the incident to dampen the flames from above while ground resources were working on accessing the area.

The helicopter reported that the fire was “skunking around”, meaning is burnign slowly at a low intensity.
