Scanner traffic beginning around 1:55 p.m. indicated multiple reporting parties described a fire flaring up behind the Holiday Inn near the intersection of Hare Creek and State Route 20 in Fort Bragg.

The Incident Commander reported the fire is growing at a slow rate of spread and is slope-driven. They reported at 2:03 p.m. that structures would be threatened in “about five minutes.”

Initial reports attributed the fire to a nearby homeless encampment.

Multiple agencies are being requested to assist in the fire including CAL FIRE and resources from Mendocino Fire.
