Scanner traffic indicates that California Highway Patrol, firefighters, and medical personnel were dispatched at 10:59 a.m. after reports emerged of a U-Haul driving down an embankment along Highway 101 and overturning.
The incident is located approximately one mile north of Piercy and the dispatcher reported extrication is required. The roadway is not affected by the incident, as per the dispatcher.
Both ground and air ambulances have been requested to the scene.
UPDATE 12:44 p.m.: The CHP Traffic Incident Information Page indicates first responders were forced to navigate dirt roads adjacent to the overturned, 26-foot U-Haul.
The driver of the U-Haul was reportedly seen on foot south of the crash site along Highway 101 and appeared uninjured.
