Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a single-vehicle accident off of Highway 101’s northbound lane near Ukiah has left two parties trapped in the vehicle and “moderately injured.”
The Incident Commander told dispatch the vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, has major front and rear-end damage.
Resources are staging along Highway 101. Two ground ambulances have been requested and an air ambulance is on order.
UPDATE 9:21 p.m.: The patients have been extricated from the vehicle.
One of the patients is being transferred Code 3 to Ukiah Valley Adventist Health Hospital to be airlifted
The Caltrans Quick Map indicates the northbound lane of Highway 101 is slowing in the area of the collision.
UPDATE 9:26 p.m.: A second helicopter has been requested to respond to parties involved in the accident.
UPDATE 9:54 p.m.: The incident is now being characterized a “major injury” collision.
