On May 1, 2022, at approximately 1050 hours, Kimberleigh S. Myers from Redwood Valley was driving a 26-foot-long Ford Ecoline Uhaul truck south on US-101 north of Reynolds Road over-crossing.  Myers lost control of the Ford which caused the Ford to travel across the road and collide head-on with the concrete bridge railing.  The Ford then traveled on top of the bridge railing and traveled for approximately 35 feet and then overturned to the right falling approximately 20 feet off the bridge landing on its side.  Myers was trapped in the Ford for approximately an hour and a half until Fire Personnel was able to extricate her out.  Myers was then transported by air ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where she was treated for major injuries.

The California Highway Patrol would like to thank the Piercy volunteer Fire Department, Leggett Volunteer Fire Department, City Ambulance and Air Reach for their response and assistance at the scene.  The collision remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol – Garberville Area.
