The following is a press release issued by the Economic Development & Financing Corporation (EDFC):
In partnership with the County of Mendocino, the Economic Development & Financing Corporation (EDFC) is pleased to announce the launch of the California Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant Program, which will provide grants of $2,500 to local microbusinesses significantly impacted by COVID-19. Grant amounts and eligibility requirements are set by the funder, the California Office of the Small Business Advocate (CalOSBA). The intent of this program is to provide relief to the hardest to reach microbusinesses and entrepreneurs. EDFC is a nonprofit organization administering the application and grant-making process.
The grant portal will be open from May 1, 2022 until the funds have been exhausted. Please review eligibility requirements prior to submitting your grant application.
EDFC was founded in 1995 through the efforts of the County of Mendocino and the four incorporated jurisdictions: Willits, Ukiah, Point Arena, and Fort Bragg. Its purpose is as relevant today as it was in 1995: to provide a collaborative approach to economic development and to provide an alternative source of financing to Mendocino County businesses that are unable to access bank financing. In addition to coordinating economic development services, EDFC also offers business loans from under $5,000 up to $250,000 to start-up and existing businesses in Mendocino, Lake and Sonoma Counties.
