Scanner traffic around 10:10 p.m. indicated law enforcement had two at gunpoint on Ukiah’s Orchard Avenue who are now detained for their suspected role in shooting at the exterior of a substance abuse treatment center on Ukiah’s Ford Street.

The call originally came from an employee at the Ford Street Project where multiple shots were reportedly fired from a handgun at the building from a vehicle.

The dispatch relayed the employee at the treatment center said there were no injuries. The shots reportedly hit the building and trees outside.

Law enforcement intercepted a vehicle matching the description of the vehicle associated with the shooting and conducted a “felony stop” of two occupants described as juveniles.

UPDATE 10:33 a.m. 5/25/2022: Information gained from a press release from Ukiah Police Department indicated that the shooting was not directed at the Ford Street Project and the suspects initially detailed last night were later released after found to not be connected to the shooting.

  1. I’m confused. The Treatment Center or the main office? Ukiah Recovery Center is on Brush and the main office with the shelter and housing is on Ford Street.

      • I figured as much. But I guess it sounds more “juicy” to say it happened outside a treatment facility. From what I’m gathering from a friend’s security camera footage it happened closer to the trap house than the admin building.

  2. The bullet casings were found on Ford and Joseph Streets. The shots were fired there. My neighbor caught it on video on Joseph Street. The police and sheriff’s were concentrating on this section of Ford Street. 3 cars were hit, all in this area. I didn’t hear the shots until they were up towards Ford & Joseph. I really doubt it started at the treatment center.

  3. How was a Permit obtained for this place when a Daycare is right across the street????????????? What a mistake to put it in the wrong location
