KZYX, Community Radio for Mendocino County, is hosting a free public radio orientation and training on Saturday, July 9 from 1-4pm at the KZYX Studio in Philo. All our local music and public affairs shows are produced by volunteer DJs. The New Programmer Orientation is an opportunity to find out about community radio and learn some of the practical on-air production skills to host a program on KZYX.

KZYX is always looking for new programmers who have a passion for music or a different point of view. Everyone is invited, even those not interested in being on the air, but interested in behind-the-mic skills like engineering and production. Come meet members of the KZYX staff, learn how to operate the soundboard in the KZYX studio, and plug into your local Community Radio station!

Please register in advance by calling KZYX’s Program Director Alicia Bales at 707-895-2324 or email pd@kzyx.org. The training is free, all ages are welcome, and no prior radio experience is required to participate.
