[UPDATE: Rescue Successful]First Responders Deployed to Lake Pillsbury Campground for a Camper Falling Off a Cliff

Scanner traffic beginning at 9:58 p.m. indicates a female camper took a long fall off a cliff near Lake Pillsbury’s Westshore campground. Air and ground ambulances have been requested to the area.

Lake Pillsbury Volunteer Fire Department has been dispatched to the scene.


UPDATE 10:17 p.m.: The location of the incident is just south of the Fuller Grove Campground.


UPDATE 10:37 p.m.: A CAL FIRE Engine is on its way to the staging area for the incident and is estimating it will take an hour to get to the scene.


UPDATE 10:43 p.m.: An air ambulance is on its way to the scene and the Incident Commander is requesting it land at the Fuller Grove Campground.


UPDATE 11:11 p.m. The air ambulance just landed at the Fuller Grove parking lot near the boat ramp.

UPDATE 11:14 p.m.: Lake Pillsbury Fire personnel are reporting the patient has minor injuries and has been sucessfully extricated out of the canyon they had fallen into. Both air and ground ambulances were canceled.
