This situation is extremely fast changing. What we report now, could change at a moment’s notice

What began as reports of highway violence on Highway 101 southbound has escalated to a full-blown police manhunt.

Around 6:00 p.m. this evening, multiple reporting parties described a black truck and black sedan smashing into each other on Highway 101 near Ukiah at high speeds.

Around 6:30 p.m., CHP reportedly pulled over a vehicle occupied by three black male adults on the Burke Hill Road exit south of Ukiah. There were reports the men were armed with AK-47s before fleeing on foot.

Law enforcement has amassed on the exit and is actively canvassing looking for the suspects. A drone is being used to surveil the area.

Three vehicles are associated with this incident at this point described a black honda, a black truck, and either a U-Haul trailer or a U-Haul Box truck.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has issued a shelter in place for residents and asked the general public to avoid the area.

  1. 😆 Ukiah guy, I was wondering the same thing. I checked the booking log, nothing out of the ordinary there. I guess we can only imagine the ending to this news report. Is it safe to walk your dog on Burke Hill Road? Idk. Those guys with their AK’s could be anywhere by now…. but like I said….they don’t appear to be in jail.

  2. I live off Burke hill, they were searching all the vineyards , there was no helicopter. Just lots of cops from all agencies. EVERYWHERE!!!! How many were there and did they catch Em all?

  3. I thank the police department for being so efficient, we live in Burke hill Rd, and we were informed of all the commotion we have the goodneiborhood watch, everyone is alert of our suroundings.
