Multiple Agencies Converge as the Search for Man Missing East of Fort Bragg Moves Into Day Two

The following is a press release issued by the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office:

The search continues today, 07-22-22 for Thomas Arrants, the 74-year-old male missing near the 24000 block on Highway 20 near Fort Bragg.

Yesterday, Mendocino County Search and Rescue utilized ATVs, a UTV and ground teams, and were joined by CALFIRE and National Guard personnel in hopes of locating Thomas.

Please use caution along the Mile Post Marker 8-9 mile stretch of Highway 20 as teams from Mendocino County as well as mutual aid from neighboring counties help continue our efforts of locating Thomas.

Today there are a total of 75 search personnel, from the following agencies/organizations:

  • Mendocino County Search and Rescue
  • Marin County Search and Rescue
  • Napa County Search and Rescue
  • Sonoma County Search and Rescue
  • Cal Fire Chamberlain Creek
  • Cal-ESAR (California Explorer Search and Rescue)
  • CARDA (California Rescue Dog Association) with two dogs.
