Morning Shooting Near Fort Bragg Results in Fatality—Detectives Investigating

A shooting near Fort Bragg this morning has resulted in a fatality, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Greg Van Patten confirmed this morning.

Captain Van Patten told us the shooting reportedly occurred around 6:05 a.m. on Highway 20 near Fort Bragg. The shooting victim was “self-transported” to a nearby hospital and was “pronounced dead thereafter.”

The investigation is in the “beginning stages” as of 9:00 a.m. and Sheriff’s deputies and detectives are on the scene.

      • I am so sorry for your loss. My heart aches for you. I hope that they find who did this to your Dad. Again, I am So sorry for what you must be going through.

      • I’m so sorry for your lost. I’m sad to say but the first victim he killed was my cousin Mark…. It makes me sick to know he has a bail for this crime all so…..

  1. I hope they arrest the right person. Everyone is saying it was Lily, his girlfriend, but I’ve also heard it was a dude names Hippie or another person….idk what happened and why my dad ended up dead but it really freaking sucks! R.I.P Dad, Daniel “Danbud” Shealor

  2. I hope whoever is working this case does a thorough investigation and that justice is served for the victim because rumors are getting out of control regarding who the responsible party really is.
