Scanner traffic beginning around 6:50 p.m. indicates law enforcement has deployed to the 30000 block of North Highway 1 after a dispute about beach access resulted in one man shooting at another.

The suspected shooter was described as a bald heavyset male wearing a black shirt and brown shorts. He reportedly used a handgun to shoot towards the other party’s foot.

The suspect is reportedly known to law enforcement and has had disputes with others regarding trespassing in the past.

  1. I wonder if this is the same guy that threatened us over 30 years ago when we were trying to get down to the beach. We would climb down off the highway where we knew it was public property. My husband spoke with the man and the man agreed not to try and stop us. He did stop others though. Scary!

  2. It may be the same man that threatened us in July. He ran us off claiming that my family and I were trespassing on private property. I apologized and thought the matter concluded yet he continued to threaten us. We can’t go back to that area again.

  3. California Navigable Waters Act allows for public access down a creek from public road to a beach. There are virtually no private beaches in California.
