4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Santa Rosa

A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck Santa Rosa at 6:39 p.m. this evening.

Social media users from the area are reporting significant jolts and the United State Geological Society’s “Did You Feel It” map characterized the temblor as “light”.

The earthquake reportedly struck 3 kilometers north of Santa Rosa its epicenter 7.5 km below the earth’s surface.

  1. I was stopped in a car near Steele & Mendocino Ave. I got a phone alert before I felt it. It felt like someone shaking the car. I hadn’t realized there was a 2nd until looking at FB later.
