Don’t miss the best light show on the coast! The 12th annual Festival of Lights will happen rain or shine every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening from November 25 through December 18 at the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens. Get your tickets before they sell out!

Gardens staff and volunteers began prepping for the event back in October… countless hours spent stringing thousands of twinkling lights. Take a stroll along twinkling pathways and marvel at the inventive displays created by Gardens staff and volunteers. Find a unique present for your favorite person at the gift shop and snag some hot drinks and sweet treats from the Holiday Cafe.

Tickets for the event are $10 each. Children age 16 and under attend for free. Advance tickets are required and may be purchased on our website (www.gardenbythesea.org/FOL) or at our gift shop. Tickets are limited each night and may sell out! Dress for winter weather, the event will run rain or shine. We ask that all visitors consider wearing a face mask in our indoor areas and when interacting with our staff. If you are sick, please stay home. Dogs are not allowed at the Festival of Lights. Parking is free but very limited, please plan to carpool.

The Gardens’ board, staff, and volunteers are excited to bring back this beloved holiday event. Special thanks to this year’s presenting sponsor Sonoma Clean Power who are committed to providing electricity generated by cleaner and more renewable sources, so your holiday season can shine even brighter.

Make a trip to the Gardens this winter, day or night, to appreciate the beauty and hard work that goes into maintaining this 47-acre botanical destination. Visit www.gardenbythesea.org/FOL for full details and to get tickets.

  1. All I can say is that if you watched one of the children walk to the edge of the garden and saw the gleam I their eyes…you would have been transformed into the 5 or 6 year old who’s eyes sparkled, whose face was transfixed, whose delight was apparent at all those sparkling lights. And that wasn’t just the youngsters…the elders were delighted as well.
MCBG’s Festival of Lights is like a magical dream come true. It’s a “must see”. Make a reservation and without a doubt, you’ll have a magical night!
