[UPDATE: Confirmed Fatality]Single Vehicle Accident in Brooktrails—Driver Reportedly ‘Non-Responsive’

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicate that a single vehicle careened off of Sherwood Road in Brooktrails. The driver is reportedly non-responsive and the vehicle suffered “major damage”.

The incident occurred near the 24000 block of Sherwood Road and first responders are working to extricate the patient.

The initial report described the vehicle as a “Bronco” but that has not been restated since the first call out.


UPDATE 5:47 p.m.: The Incident Commander told dispatch the accident resulted in a “confirmed 11-44”, meaning the driver sadly succumbed to their injuries and died at the scene.

  1. Saw this vehicle about 5:15 approx. tailgating the car in front of them, heard a screeching sound and my boyfriend looked in rear view mirror and saw the white vehicle fishtailing.

  2. So sad! I commute Hwy 20 to Ukiah and back 5 days a week and I really wish people wouldn’t think they’re invincible. My love and positive thoughts go out to this person and their family.
