The following is a press release issued by the Ukiah Unified School District:
Ukiah Unified School District Trustees have announced that because no candidates filed to run for Trustee Area 6 in the November 8, 2022, election, they intend to appoint a qualified individual to the Board pursuant to Education Code sections 5090, 5091, 5326, and 5328.
Interested individuals who are registered voters residing in Trustee Area 6 may obtain an application online at www.uusd.net, or pick up an application by calling or writing to Debbie Ornelas, Office of the Superintendent and Board of Trustees, at 707.472.5002, 511. S. Orchard Ave., Ukiah, CA 95482.
Completed applications must be received at the District Service Center by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2023. The current members of the Board of Trustees will interview Trustee Area 6 applicants in an open session at a special meeting on Monday, January 30, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Anyone interested may contact the Mendocino County Office of Elections at 707.234.6819 to confirm that they are registered voters, that their residential address is the same as their registered address, and that they are within Trustee Area 6.
