On 11-30-2022 at approximately 7:45 PM Deputies from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report of two intoxicated subjects.

A Deputy arrived in the 13000 block of South Highway 101 (Hopland, California) and located the two subjects.

Immediately upon arrival, one of the two subjects began walking away from the Deputy who would later be identified as Johny Nunez-Garcia.

Nunes-Garcia was told to stop and instead of obeying the verbal command, he began to run away from the Deputy and a foot pursuit ensued. The Deputy quickly caught up to Nunes-Garcia at which point he attempted to detain him when Nunes-Garcia tried punching the Deputy.

The Deputy moved to avoid being punched and another foot pursuit ensued. The Deputy again caught up to Nunez-Garcia and he resisted the Deputy’s efforts of being placed under arrest.

Nunez-Garcia was subsequently booked into Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $15,000.00 bail.
