Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicate the northbound lane of Potter Valley Road is blocked after a traffic accident resulted in a truck overturned in the roadway. One patient suffered mild/moderate injuries.
This incident occurred near the intersection of Potter Valley Road and State Route 20
Initial reports indicated one of the vehicles was on fire but emergency personnel did not find any active fires upon arriving at the scene.
The initial dispatch regarding the incident described a truck spinning out, hitting rocks near the roadway, flipping over, and coming to rest in the northbound lane.
The Incident Commander has requested both county road personnel and Caltrans sand the roadways due to accrued ice.
It is unclear whether this accident involved one or two vehicles. Scanner traffic has referred to it as both a one and two-vehicle collision.
UPDATE 12:31 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the incident resulted in a large rock being dislodged from a rock pile along the roadway. The rock came to place near the yellow-lined edge of the roadway and Caltrans was requested to move it.
UPDATE 1:02 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the roadway is now open and traffic is moving in both directions.
