[UPDATES]Vehicle Collides with Mudslide on Highway 101 Between Hopland and Cloverdale

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate a mudslide on Highway 101 between Hopland and Cloverdale resulted in a single-vehicle traffic accident.

The mudslide initially reported around 8:11 p.m. has covered both northbound lanes of Highway 101.

The collision occurred around 8:33 p.m. Initial information described a single-vehicle traffic collision near the Mendocino/Sonoma County line. A single party was reportedly trapped in the vehicle resting in the northbound lane requiring extrication.


UPDATE 8:46 p.m.: The Incident Commander there is a single patient involved with the incident and they suffered “moderate injuries” from the collision. Extrication was not required.


UPDATE 9:15 p.m.: The Incident Commander confirmed the roadway is officially blocked and officials are working to tow the vehicle involved and clear the mud and debris.

    • Sounds like just the North bound side is blocked. By morning there could be alot of roads with delays going toward Saint Helena. Might be a good sick day.

      • Any details available as to whether or not the mudslide has been cleared, or at least cleared enough to let traffic through?
