Scanner traffic beginning around 8:15 p.m. this evening indicates law enforcement is actively pursuing a black motorcycle attempting to flee officers at a high rate of speed.

The motorcycle is reportedly stolen out of San Francisco and was sighted by local law enforcement driving recklessly and doing wheelies before the pursuit began.

As of 8:25, the motorcyclist was seen going northbound on Highway 101 past the Gobbi Street exit. The pursuit thus far has centered around Highway 101 with the subject getting off and on the highway using the on and off ramps in Ukiah.

UPDATE 8:26 p.m.: Officers believe the motorcyclists sped off at high speeds continuing north of Ukiah.

There is confusion because officers have another black motorcycle and driver detained near QuestMart in Ukiah but there is debate over the scanner whether that was the motorcycle that initially sped off.

UPDATE 8:33 p.m.: Pursuing officers lost sight of the motorcycle and are currently combing the exits off Highway 101 at the bases of the Ridgewood Grade believing the motorcyclist might have moved to surface streets.
