A vehicle struck a pedestrian this evening in Lakeport and subsequently fled the scene. Emergency personnel blocked off the roadway and medics on the scene communicated the patient was ‘not breathing’.

Scanner traffic starting around 6:00 p.m. indicated a silver Chevrolet Suburban the subject on the 500 block of Lakeport’s North Main Street driving away northbound.

UPDATE 6:22 p.m.: Scanner traffic indicates medics are transporting the patient to a nearby hospital

Please remember that this story is unfolding. Information is being reported as we gather it. However, some of the information coming from witnesses and initial official reports could be wrong. We will do our best to get the facts but, in the case that something is inaccurate, we will update with correct information as soon as we can.

  1. The driver was captured. A Lakeport man formerly from Texas. Not sure why they had that noted, but they did.
