Mendocino County law enforcement is on the hunt this afternoon for five men suspected of committing an armed robbery of a Willits cannabis business making off with fifty pounds of bud.

Willits Police Sergeant Jordan Walstrom told us the armed robbery was reported at 12:53 this afternoon and occurred on the 300 block of Creekside Drive at a “cannabis-related business”. Four of the five suspects were reportedly armed with handguns. Sergeant Walstrom said the men fled the crime scene driving south on Highway 101 in a black Jeep SUV with fifty pounds of marijuana.

When we spoke with Sergeant Walstrom around 3:03 p.m., he told us WPD officers potentially had one of the suspects in custody, but at that time could not confirm.

Scanner traffic immediately after the incident described the robbery suspects as five black male adults. One was reportedly wearing black with gold on his teeth. Another reportedly wore a green sweatshirt.

At that time, scanner traffic indicated there was another vehicle potentially connected to the robbery driven by a younger black male adult of a thin build with permed and dyed hair.
