On January 22nd, 2023 at about 12:30pm, Willits Police Department (WPD) Officers were detailed to the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office’s Willits substation on a report of a robbery of marijuana at a nearby address on Creekside Drive.

WPD Officers interviewed three victims who told the investigating Officers they were robbed at gunpoint by five adult males of approximately 40-50lbs of processed marijuana bud.  The location of the robbery is a marijuana related business at a residence.  The business had approval to operate as a medical consultancy.  The approval did not authorize the storage and/or handling of marijuana at the subject site.  City officials will initiate a second investigation regarding the unauthorized use.

The five suspects included a client identified by the business owner as Robert Jamison (28, Anaheim).  The suspects fled the area in a black Jeep Compass with Arizona license plates and an unidentified second vehicle.

The investigation is ongoing.  WPD is encouraging anyone with information of the robbery or the suspects’ whereabouts to contact Officer Pearson at (707)459-6122.

  1. The good news is now that pot is legal. We are all safer and better off. And its refreshing to know the agencies involved in monitoring and regulating the distribution of the DRUG are capable and competent. Like everything else our authorities regulate they will manage it into a giant heap of inefficient , wasteful corrupt crap. And pull the very worse possibilities out into reality for us to endure. Good job governing bodies !!!

    • It isn’t legal in many states. Many growers in this area (who can’t afford the legalization process or secure contracts with dispensaries) transport product out of state to illegal ones where they can get a fair price.
Now these illegal states are just sending armed dudes to grab it from dispensaries. They don’t have to even drive onsome crazy dirt road up murder mountain, they just go to a small town dispensary.
Dry states are stealing from wet states. It’s called a black market. It has nothing to do with airy fairy people thinking pot will save us. What has the wine industry done for Mendocino County? Why is weed not allowed to become a legitimate thriving industry like alcohol grapes grown around here? Tasting rooms? Why do people with guns not rob alcohol from homes and stores on the same scale? Because it’s legal. People smoke and drink.
Make no mistake, it’s because Cannabis is still illegal that we have this problem.
