A police pursuit is in progress this evening east of Fort Bragg on Sherwood Road.
Beginning around 7:30 p.m., Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies began a pursuit of a suspect known to law enforcement for a firearm brandishing incident in Fort Bragg this evening.
The vehicle pursuit followed Sherwood Road east until meeting up with County Ranch Road. After striking railroad tracks intersecting the roadway, two tires blew out and the suspect foot-bailed running eastbound on the tracks.
Deputies were in pursuit on foot until 7:47 p.m. when law enforcement radio contact was compromised requiring officers to cancel the pursuit.
UPDATE 7:50 p.m.: Deputies have officially returned to their vehicles. The suspect is armed and at large. The suspect is a male named Johnny Delgado and suspected of brandishing his firearm at a female. Deputies spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop when they noticed its license plate was inoperable.

UPDATE:
Mendo Sheriff’s were able to stop suspect vehicle: Six officers approached vehicle and found back door open and suspect not in vehicle. Later officer dashcams and bodycams show suspect exiting vehicle by way of backdoor… suspect then walked away from area passing 4 officers as they approached vehicle. Suspect not located. Sherriffs spokesman declined comment
