MendoFever Is Now On Instagram!

Helle MendoFever Readers-

If you have an Instagram account, you can now get all of your Mendocino County news needs met on our brand-spanking-new Instagram account @mendofever.news. The username “MendoFever” is taken, so we compromised for the new platform.

We considered moving onto the platform for a while now but did not want to commit to curating another online space. With a little tech-know-how we found a way to automatically populate our Instagram feed posting every time we publish a new article.

There are unfortunately some limitations to the platform. Take a look at the embedded Instagram post above. You might notice that Instagram does not allow hyperlinks in photo captions. This means that if an Instagram user is interested in reading one of our pieces, they’ll have to exit the post and click the hyperlink to our website at the top of the profile.

Instagram at its core puts photography front and center, which we admire and look forward to the platform showcasing the images we painstakingly seek out to bring our stories to life.

We publish dozens of articles each week that you might miss and following us on another platform increases the likelihood of seeing our work.

I like to think of myself as a reporter for the Average Joe. Journalism has become a craft defined largely by city dwellers on America's coasts. It’s time to take it back. I have been an Emerald Triangle resident since 2006 and this is year ten in Mendocino County. Please, email me at matthewplafever@gmail.com if you know a story that needs to be told.
