MCSO: Point Arena Man Bashes Two Elders with Rocks Causing Traumatic Injury

The following is a press release issued by the Ukiah Police Department. This has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Alejandro Ortiz [Mugshot from the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Booking Logs]

On 03-05-2023 at 2:07 PM, Mendocino County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to an intoxicated person causing a disturbance at the Point Arena City Park near the public bathrooms.

As Deputies were responding, they were advised the suspect was now throwing rocks towards people, and later overheard fire and medical being dispatched to a nearby location for a person with a traumatic head injury.

Deputies arrived and observed Alejandro Ortiz standing in the parking lot adjacent to the bathrooms, yelling at a person and holding a large rock.

Deputies quickly disarmed and detained Ortiz, who was placed in the rear seat of a patrol vehicle.  Deputies observed large rocks in the parking lot and two vehicles with fresh appearing damages, consistent with being struck by large rocks.

Deputies responded to the nearby medical call and determined a 67-year-old male had been struck in the head with a rock by Ortiz, while near the bathrooms.  The 67-year-old male was later transported by ambulance to the Adventist Health Mendocino Coast Emergency Room for medical treatment.

Deputies then contacted a 66-year-old male, who also had reportedly been struck multiple times by rocks thrown by Ortiz prior to the Deputies arrival. The 66-year-old male had visible injuries on his arm, knees, and back but declined to be transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Based on the results of the investigation, Ortiz was arrested for 245(a)(1) PC (Assault with a Deadly Weapon) 243(d) PC (Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury) and 594(b)(1) PC (Felony Vandalism).

Ortiz was transported and booked into the Mendocino County Jail where he was to be held in lieu of $30,000.00 bail.

  1. Katherine might be the new Karen?! You are right though, Katherine, it is the dems fault. Dems have been recklessly manufacturing rocks for millennia & leaving them strewn out all over the planet in the hopes they’ll be used to inflict bodily injury on others. Rocks manufactured from maga, oh wait, I meant, magma. I get them confused because they’re both specifically designed to harm others. Anyways, im calling for a ban on all dem rocks! Join me people, as I attempt to make America dumb again! Or as I call it….operation Katherine

    • So it’s ok for an illegals to come here and do wrong? And then charges get dropped. The Dems are at fault here close the border and this shit wouldn’t be happening along with all the fentanyl overdoses. Maybe eradicate all marijuana so then the cartels won’t want to come and join in. And don’t even come at me telling me that isn’t true. Cause I can take you on a “yellow school bus” tour and show you many cartel ram grows that aren’t in the bushes. How about the fact that the cartel ran dozer operators and water tenders out of covelo during that fire. CLOSE THE BORDER WE WILL BE SAFER! Oh wait that’s racists and all the other ists!! No it’s not it’s common sense and more need to use it. Hope I never see you complain they are at your house causing problems. Cause remember the police have been defunded also so it will take awhile to get help!
      Best regards from another Katherine!!

      • “Ms. Kathrine, what you have just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point during your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.”

  2. DA Oyster will drop the felonies because he did not hurt any animals during this film. Assault with a deadly weapon on seniors is not on his radar. Just like he did with my assault by Running Larvie.

  3. Good thing the deputies were nearby to promptly prevent further injuries and damage to people’s property by this miscreant!

  4. Breaking news: Katherine is bored and anxious again! Are you ok Katherine? What’s going on in your inner world? We can help…
