The following is a press release issued by the Ukiah Unified School District:
During the regularly scheduled March 9, 2023, Board Meeting, the Ukiah Unified School District Trustees announced that they have authorized negotiations with the Rural Communities Housing Development Corporation (RCHDC) for the potential purchase of the former Redwood Valley Elementary School property. The RCHDC was the only eligible entity that responded to the District’s Notice of Offer to Sell Surplus Property during the window that opened on December 18th, 2022, and closed on February 16th, 2023.
The negotiation period is 90 days. If the parties do not finalize the terms for RCHDC’s potential purchase of the former Redwood Valley Elementary School property by June 7, 2023, the Board has authorized the Chief Business Official to proceed with offering the property for purchase to the general public in compliance with the requirements of the Education Code relating to surplus real property.
