Initial reports emerged around 6:12 a.m. via scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Incident Information Page that a vehicle was on fire after driving off an embankment along the northbound lanes of Highway 101 approximately one mile north of the Lake Mendocino exit.

Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office deputies, California Highway Patrol officers, and firefighting personnel converged on the scene.

  1. Who by fire? L. Cohen. I got 40% high second degree burns from a car fire. A true wake up call and a helo ride to UC Davis burn ward. Gasoline is nasty stuff. Without opiates I would not have survived the 9 days without skin. And I did have a bedside visit from god. A true turning point in my life from victim to survivor. Burn survivors hate the term victim because victims become narcissistic.

    • And yet here you are talking about yourself?! This story is about the passing of 3 souls. Not sure your war story & come to Jesus moment applies.
