The following is a press release issued by the Cloverdale Police Department. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

On 4/9/2023, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in the 400 block of East First Street while walking westbound in the north shoulder. The driver accelerated after the collision and fled the scene continuing westbound toward Main Street. The pedestrian was transported to the hospital and is in critical condition.

A piece of the vehicle separated and was located at the scene. The car part is a black plastic bumper grille with two (one black and one red) decorative (non-functional) heart-shaped “hand straps” attached so as to hang below the bottom edge of the front bumper (photo attached).

The suspect vehicle is a white 2009-2010 Toyota Corolla (possibly XRS trim) with unique/distinctive custom red accents along the lower sides and around the wheel wells. Aside from missing its bumper vent grille, vehicle damage is unknown.

Please contact the Cloverdale Police Department if you have any information regarding this incident. Contact investigating Ofc. Damian Eglesfield at (707) 894 – 2150 or deglesfield@ci.cloverdale.ca.us.

  1. Pretty easy to solve Cloverdale police. Looks like it’s time for you to hop into the DMV database and find all white 2009-2010 Corollas in the area and do some detective work. If you cross reference how many of those owners of white 2009/2010 Corollas are felons and or have speeding or street racing tickets, there’s a good chance that’s your guy.

    • I presume you feel this is an person who entered the country with out documentation and is of Spanish origin. If it was a low-rider it would not be a Toyota Corolla. It would not have plastic hearts dangling from the grill as every low-rider I have seen was more valuable then any car I have ever owned. They usually drive very slow as they are very low and do not want to rip any parts off the car. To presume that it is as you say would be both biased and a poor investigation.
