Grover Hunter: A Potter Valley Local Boy, a Loving Father, and a Man of Convictions

Grover Hunter, born on November 22nd, 1985, passed away suddenly on April 23rd, 2023. He was from Ukiah but spent his early childhood in Potter Valley. Grover was preceded in death by his parents, Gregory Hunter and mother, Bridgette Winter. He is survived by his sons, Elijah and Gavin Hunter, as well as his sister, Monique Dobbs, and brother, Blake Hunter. He will be deeply missed by his cousins, nieces, nephews, and many family members and friends.

Grover’s gentle and compassionate nature touched the lives of all who knew him. He had a thirst for knowledge and loved sharing it with others. His unwavering convictions and sense of humor will forever be remembered.

He enjoyed spending time in the garden and could grow some amazing tomatoes. Music and attending live shows were some of his passions, as well as being in nature, hiking, and going on adventures with his boys, whom he loved so much.

Grover was a deeply loving person who felt emotions intensely, which sometimes made life difficult for him.

He cherished his relationships with family and friends and had a particular soft spot for babies. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Grover will be buried next to his father and grandparents, Mary Jo and Gordon Hunter, at the Potter Valley cemetery.

  1. Grover was one of my childhood friends and I loved him to death he was an awesome person we went to elementary school together and Junior high and high School he was an amazing man and friend rest in peace Grover till we see each other again
