[UPDATE: ‘Looking Good’]Wildfire Ignites in Lakeport

Firefighters are currently fighting a slow-moving wildfire near Lakeport that is three acres in size.

Just before 6 p.m., a vegetation fire was reported off 4200 block of Scotts Valley Road to the northwest of Clear Lake. Multiple aircraft including T90 and T91 as well as an air attack (N410DF) are responding from Ukiah airport.

The Incident Commander reports that a structure is likely in danger.

Firefighters on the ground are struggling with access as there is a bridge that won’t support their engines.

Air attack and tankers are circling the Scott’s Fire in this screenshot of FlightRadar.

By 6:20 p.m., Air Attack reported that the fire is now three acres burning in oak woodland, but moving slowly.


UPDATE 6:43 p.m.: The Incident Commander reported the fire is holding at four acres and fire retardent has been dropped around 90% of it.
