Mendo Off-Roaders Save a Motorist Stuck on Cow Mountain

Off-roaders came to save Romer’s Jeep Cherokee yesterday afternoon [Picture by Garrett Romer]

Garrett Romer’s Saturday sojourn on Cow Mountain came to a screeching halt yesterday afternoon when his Jeep Cherokee came uncomfortably close to slip-sliding down a hillside.

Thankfully, Mendocino County did what it does best. After we put out the call for help, multiple local off-road aficionados pitched in and were able to extricate the vehicle letting Romer get home in one piece.

After we posted our article about his predicament yesterday, Romer said, “at least a dozen people called us to help.”

Soon after, “A few people drove out who were well equipped and it made all the difference.”

Gromer said with gratitude, “It’s awesome to see how much the wheeling community is willing to help out somebody in a sticky situation.”
