Woman Nearly Drowns on the Eel River North of Potter Valley

A woman almost drowned this afternoon on the Eel River near the swimming hole at Van Arsdale.

Scanner traffic came out around 7:10 p.m. that a 36-year-old woman nearly drowned before being plucked from the water. Upon being brought ashore, the woman regained consciousness.

Law enforcement, medical, and other emergency services have been in the area throughout the afternoon after a fight broke out between intoxicated parties that left a juvenile injured.
