The following is a press release issued by the Ukiah Police Department. This has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
On July 16, 2023, at approximately 0938 hours, a solo-vehicle fatal crash occurred on southbound US Highway 101 north of State Route 253, in the CHP Ukiah Area. The vehicle had been reported to have been weaving prior to drifting across the west roadway edge, down and embankment and rolling over into a vineyard. The party was pronounced deceased on scene at approximately 0949 hours. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs are a factor in this crash. Area personnel are handling the investigation.
