Possible Structure Fire Sends Black Smoke Skyward East of Albion

The Hazel Fire as seen from the Cameron AlertCalifornia Fire Camera

A full wildland fire response has been deployed to the 27000 block of Albion Ridge Road where an unknown type fire is actively burning this evening.

Ground firefighters are reporting a large plume of black smoke in the area. The fire is reportedly located down a logging road in the area.

The air attack commander reported the fire is one acre in size burning in heavy fuel. The fire is spreading slowly and in the middle the commander said he assumed there was a structure but could not be sure because the smoke was so thick.

Initially reported around 6:55 p.m., the fire is being referred to as the “Hazel Incident” and a dark column of smoke is visible from the Cameron AlertCalifornia fire camera.
