Vegetation Fire Flares Up Along Ukiah’s Highway 101 Corridor

A vegetation fire burning along the southbound lane of Highway 101 in Ukiah and reportedly threatened nearby structures for a brief period. The southbound on-ramp to Highway 101 off Gobbi Street has been shut down as crews get control of the incident.

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate the initial callout happened at 1:12 p.m. The Incident Commander reported the fire was burning along the southbound lane of Highway 101 near the intersection with Gobbi Street.

Dispatch reported the fire was spreading into the 700 block of Cindee Lane and burning along the fence line of multiple residences.

By 1:25 p.m., the Incident Commander reported the fire’s spread into the residential area had been stopped.
