A motorcyclist is dead this evening in Lake County after a head-on collision with a tractor-trailer.
Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page indicate the collision occurred approximately halfway between Lucerne and Pepperwood Grove.
The collision reportedly occurred at 7:08 p.m. when the motorcycle and a tractor-trailer hauling a backhoe collided head-on cluttering the roadway with debris. The rider reportedly ended up under the utility truck and was pronounced dead minutes after the collision.
The Caltrans Quickmap indicates that traffic is moving slowly in both directions as first responders secure the scene.
