Over 700 PG&E Customers Lose Electricity After Vehicle Collides with Power Pole South of Ukiah

A rollover accident near the intersection of State Route 253 and Highway 101 south of Ukiah smashed into a utility pole knocking power out to over 700 PG&E customers this afternoon.

Scanner traffic and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information page indicate the collision occurred at 4:43 p.m. near the intersection of State Route 253 and Plant Road.

Initial reports from the scene indicate the vehicle rolled several times before colliding with the utility pole. In the immediate aftermath a female driver was reported to still be in the vehicle and as of publication whether or not she was injured remains unclear.

The PG&E Power Outage Map shows 771 total residents lost power mainly located west of the accident along State Route 253 (Boonville-Ukiah Road) and south of Ukiah. Crews are at the scene and the power is expected to be restored around 9:15 p.m.
