Lumber Truck Overturns Near Ukiah Last Night

Categories:

A lumber truck overturned yesterday evening, October 26, 2023, near Ukiah littering Highway 101 with lengths of wood and requiring a temporary shutdown of southbound lanes.

A review of scanner traffic around 10:30 p.m. indicated the semi overturned near the intersection of Highway 101 and Ukiah’s North State Street spilling lumber across the roadway. Thankfully, no injuries resulted from the accident.

For a short time after the collision, traffic was redirected as crews cleared the lanes allowing through traffic.

A Facebook post from the Caltrans District 1 Facebook page showed crews still clearing lumber this morning.

  1. just my opinion and a bit off topic, the onramp off of North State Street going north has got to be one of the worst in my 55 years of driving experience, which includes a variety of counties, cities, locations up and down Ca. Tight blind curve, short merge (shortest I’ve even experienced) giving -0- possibility to merge with the flow of traffic let alone see what’s coming. Very dangerous ..
