The following is a press release issued by the California Highway Patrol Santa Rosa Office. This has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:
Last night [Saturday, October 28, 2023] at approximately 10:25pm, Santa Rosa CHP officers responded to a crash on SR-1, north of Leeward Spur, in the Sea Ranch Area. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on SR-1. The Ford veered off the right side of the roadway and drove up an ascending dirt embankment. The Ford subsequently rolled over back onto the roadway. As a result of the crash, a 1-year-old infant passenger sustained fatal injuries and a 4-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries. Officers determined the 19-year-old male driver was under the influence of alcohol. After being cleared of injuries at the hospital, the driver was booked at the Sonoma County Jail for Felony Driving Under the Influence, Gross Vehicular Manslaughter while DUI, Child Endangerment, and for having an Unsecured Firearm in the vehicle.
