Structure Fire at Ukiah Gas Station Sends Black Smoke Skyward

Firefighters converged on a Ukiah gas station this morning after a small structure behind it lit up in flames.

The initial call-out occurred around 9:21 a.m. this morning requesting fire crews respond to the Pony Express Mart on the corner of South State Street and Luce Avenue. Dispatch reported a fire was burning behind the gas station.

By 9:28 a.m., the fire was out and the Incident Commander firefighters would be overhauling the burn area for an approximate hour.
