Authorities are searching for a missing elderly woman after a house fire near the Mendocino County Coast this morning.
Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office Captain Quincy Cromer told us CAL FIRE requested deputies respond to the 39000 block of Little River-Airport Road around 7:40 a.m. to assist in a search for a missing woman.
Captain Cromer said as of this afternoon the structure was still burning and unstable limiting investigators’ abilities to search the structure.
Details Captain Cromer could confirm were limited as to the preliminary nature of the investigation.
Reports from neighbors indicate there has been a significant law enforcement presence in the area throughout the day with officers seemingly searching the woods around the structure.
